There are two basic varieties of Storks:

Black Stork
(Ciconia Nigra)

White Stork
(Ciconia Alba)

They are noted both for their high flight and for their powerful wings and for their total devotion to their young.

Because of their close family loyalty, these Birds became proverbial for exhibiting parental love and loyalty, and thus they gave rise to the myth that storks deliver human babies.

Après un siècle d'absence, ce magnifique oiseau est réapparu timidement en nichant en 1973 dans une forêt d'Indre et Loire. Aujourd'hui, ses effectifs restent faibles, n'excédant pas une quarantaine de couples.

In its earliest application as a noun, the Hebrew word CHASIYD, means "stork". It is used in the Bible as a reference to the intense and total loyalty of the stork to its offspring, especially that of the mother stork, hence the concept of Loyal Love.

Le Loup et la Cigogne
Les Loups mangent gloutonnement.
Un Loup donc étant de frairie
